worker's compensation...me???...ahhh!

So, today I had an appointment with Employee & Occupational Health to see about my back pain. Luckily, the FNP feels it's just a muscle-related injury. Although I wouldn't say just because my back is still killing me. He gave me a prescription for 800mg Motrin tablets & a mild muscle relaxer for pain. I now have a 25-lb. lifting restriction for a week until I follow up with them again. I can still work though, thank goodness! He told me I could expect it to heal up in 1-2 weeks.

It's all filed under worker's compensation so we have to pay nothing for it, I just have to follow up with them & follow their specific instructions. It's weird thinking that I will be getting worker's compensation. I feel like that is for people who have serious on the job injuries. I'm thankful that it's in place though for any injury so we don't have to worry about paying ourselves.

I do feel somewhat better after taking the muscle relaxant this afternoon after I got back from my Aveda salon appointment (I think that made me feel better too-I definitely was in need of a haircut). Hopefully the pain will just keep getting progressively better & then disappear. I will never take a healthy back for granted again!
